Magnolia and Keegan got to visit Santa at Bass Pro shop. They both did great sitting on his lap. Magnolia asked for a unicorn Glowpet and the American Girl Saige. Keegan asked for a remote of his own because he loves to play with (and eat) ours. Both kids have been beyond amazing so I sure do hope Santa is good to them! While waiting Keegan loved looking at the huge aquarium they had at Bass Pro. The picture of him with the fish is just so cool!
David's parents came to visit the first week of December. We had a great time even though it was VERY VERY cold! We went down to Denver, went to a very fun candy factory, saw Santa, played, played, and played some more. Magnolia, Grammy and Papa even braved the cold temps and played outside! Keegan had many new tricks to show them and loved to keep them on their toes! I love the picture of Magnolia and grammy on the couch. They were watching that silly Papa and Magnolia's face is just priceless!
I totally forgot to add this picture to our Thanksgiving pictures. How could I forget this one? I just love it! Gobble Gobble Gobble!
Elfie came for the season last night! If you are not familiar with Elfie let me explain. He comes to our house every year at the beginning of December. He watches over all of us making sure we are making good choices and are the very best we can be. Every night he uses his magic and flies back to the North Pole and gives Santa an update on how we were that day. When he comes back he is in a different spot in our house and we need to find him when we wake up. It is so fun and really helps to remind us to be kind, caring and patiant.
Our friend James came up yesterday to bake some Christmas cookies. Back in the day (before kids and when we lived in Minnesota) I would do holiday baking with James. Now that we both live out here we decided to bring back that tradition. Other than the fact that we had 2 little "helpers" that needed attention throughout the day it was just like old times. Magnolia was in heaven and helped every chance she could. Everything turned out delicious except for some homemade caramels. It was so fun and a great way to get in the holiday spirit.
We had a very nice low key Thankgiving. Magnolia really wanted turkey and the real Thanksgiving. Seeing as it was just the 4 of us we decided not to do a real turkey. What did we do instead? A rotisserie chicken of course! We told her it was a turkey and it worked. She loved it! Before we ate she decorated our napkins and set the table for the feast. Keegan did his part as well. He dumped everything out of the cupboards for us so we didn't have to dig in a cupboard to find what we were looking for. He put it all on the floor for us just to look down and see. We sure do have good helpers! Happy Thanksgiving to you! We are so very thankful for all of our friends and family. We love you all!
David's birthday was on Monday. Last Saturday we actually went on a date and were able to go out to a movie for his big day! It was so nice to get out with just him and feel like a real adult. We even got to go to the new Hunger Games movie that had just opened the day before. Wow! We are so hip going to a movie on opening weekend! Since David's birthday was on Monday he had to work on his big day. Magnolia wanted to throw him a surprise party so when he came home from work her, Keegan and I hid in the dark and then surprised him. She decided that Monsters University is his favorite movie so we had to buy Monster plates, cups and a balloon. After we surprised him we played the game she made. It was "Pin the eye on the monster." So cute! After dinner we had some very yummy cupcakes that Magnolia picked out. Whew, this girl sure does know how to throw a good party! Happy Birthday David! You are the most incredible man, husband and dad. We love you!
