We carved pumpkins last night. Magnolia LOVED playing in the "guts" of the pumpkins. Keegan? He did not feel good at all. He did not want to touch the pumpkins or have anything to do with the fun. He didnt even stay up to see the finished products. Poor guy, next year will be better! We tried our hand at carving something other than a face this year. We went to Target and bought one of those carving kits. I have always thought they were a joke. Who would spend 5 dollars on a silly kit when all you need is a knife from the kitchen? Well, I admit it, the kits are worth the 5 bucks! We made a bat and it really turned out like a bat! We didnt have do dull our nice kitchen knives by carving into a pumpkin and there was this really nice scoop thing to scrape and clean out the insides. Best 5 dollars I have spent in awhile! :)

Magnolia had her last game of the soccer season today. It was such a fantastic season! She loved it and improved greatly over these past 8 weeks. She had the most wonderful coaches, two young college girls who truly gave it their all. I must admit, I was so hesitant to do the whole soccer thing. I pictured a dad of one of the kids as her coach. I pictured parents who put tons of pressure on their kids. I pictured Magnolia not enjoying it at all. I was wrong on all accounts! The coaches were so fun. They encouraged all of the kids and never once put any pressure on them. The parents of all of the other on her team were so supportive of the whole team and knew that at this age it is all about fun. And Magnolia? She loved it! She had so much fun and had the cutest little skip in her step after she scored a goal. Today Magnolia got a trophy that she couldnt be more excited about. She was all smiles getting her first trophy! What a great season! (And dont tell anyone but I am secretly counting down the days until we can do spring soccer!)

We woke up to our first snow of the season on Friday. After breakfast Magnolia and David hurried up and went outside to play in it before it melted. They made a snowman and even got to sled just a bit. The snow melted very quickly and we were back out in beautiful fall weather on Saturday.

Have I mentioned this little guy of ours is into everything? Anything that he can get to is fair game in his world. Anything that he cant get to? He will at least try! Yesterday he found a piece of chalk on the floor and managed to write all over the floor, color his shoes, and tried to eat the chalk. All of this took place in a blink of an eye. All of this took place while Magnolia, David and I were within a 5 foot radius. He is quick and sneaky. He is adorable and the cutest little guy I have ever seen. He is going to give us a run for our money. He is so funny and overfills my heart with love. He is Keegan.

We took our annual trip to the pumpkin patch yesterday. David and I are not very good at traditions. We dont really have any traditions. I think it is the fact that we have moved so many times in our married life and have not really been in the same spot long enough to start traditions. The one tradition that we do have is going to the pumpkin patch. This is our 5th year going to this pumpkin patch! I must admit, I can see why people have traditions, there are so many memories connected to this pumpkin patch! Once again we had incredible weather the day we went. It was perfect temperature and bright sunny blue skies. We went pretty early in the morning to avoid all of the crowds. Keegan has been struggling lately going out and about and not being able to crawl around but this outing he did fantastic! Magnolia found the biggest pumpkin in the patch for herself but continued to think that Keegan should have a small, unripened, green one. After a lot of convincing we finally were able to help her and Keegan pick out a smaller but orange pumpkin for him. I think this is one of my most favorite days of the year and am so happy that it is one tradition that we have! :)

It was purple day yesterday at Magnolia's school. She was purple from head to toe! She had a purple bow in her hair, purple shoes, socks, shirt, pants, sweatshirt and backpack. She takes these kind of days so seriously! Today was brown day and she was so disappointed in the amount of brown she owns. She was even more disappointed when I said no to her wanting to go buy a new outfit for the day. Gotta love this girls enthusiasm!
Who needs toys when there is an open dishwasher just waiting to be crawled in? That is Keegan's new philosophy! His favorite hangout now is the kitchen. If he isnt trying to get in the dishwasher he is rearranging all of my lower cupboards. He seems to prefer everything laid out on the floor instead of nicely put away. Guess it makes it easy to find what you are looking for!
Use this picture to flash forward 15 years! Magnolia asked for some warm apple cider on Saturday morning. She sat down on the couch and relaxed with it in her hands. When I saw her sitting there I saw what she would like like in a few years. She was so cute there with her hair all messy holding her coffee cup!
