Who needs toys?

Who needs toys when you can make a little stool out of a graham cracker box to sit on and then have a pantry full of other wonderful things that need rearranging? That seems to be Magnolia's new philosophy these days! She thought she was pretty cool when she realized she could sit on a box and not have to stand the whole time. Ahh, I remember the days when I had everything in my pantry organized on the shelf and the boxes were arranged tallest to shortest and I always knew right were everything was. These days I never know what is going to come crashing down when I open the door or I might find an empty cracker box that was full the last time I checked.

First hair cut

Magnolia got her first hair cut yesterday! We found this adorable place that specializes in little girls hair. Magnolia was such a good girl and sat there like a big girl the whole time she got it cut. The first picture is the before picture (gee, I wonder we we thought she needed a haircut!!). We mainly just shortened up the back and evened the sides out. The lady who cut it even put some fancy bows in it. Magnolia also got a new pair of sunglasses at the salon for being such a good girl.

Nanny for Will

I am lucky enough to nanny Magnolia's friend, Will once a week. This was our first week and it went fantastic! Here are a few pictures from our day. Magnolia was such a good helper and was constantly giving Will toys, hugs and blowing him kisses. She even thought she was a big girl and wanted to hold him. She also turned into a cuddle bug with me for the day and actually wanted to sit on my lap and even snuggle! (This does not happen very often, and when it does it usually means she is getting sick) Magnolia also thought that she better try sitting in the tent that Scott and Heidi brought for Will to sleep in. I am sure Magnolia was just checking to make sure that it was safe for Will. All in all it was such a great day and I cant wait for this Thursday to do it again!

Busy Week

Magnolia and I had a very busy week this past week. On Tuesday we met our friends Mary and Tate at the zoo. Magnolia and Tate had a fantastic time looking at the animals together. Magnolia even wanted to share her pink hat with Tate! Such a thoughtful girl. I guess her philosophy is that everyone needs a splash of pink in their life! :) Tate and Magnolia also held hands for a very long time while looking at a hippo. Priceless!

First Camping Trip

Magnolia went on her first camping trip this past weekend. We met my brother, Anna and Landon in the Black Hills of South Dakota for a weekend of fun. We went to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, toured around a couple of little towns, played at a park, and even got to see buffalo, donkeys, and mountain goats up close and personal. It was such a great time and it was so much fun to see Landon and Magnolia play together. Thank you Ryan and Anna for everything!!!

Just wears a girl out

Magnolia and I have been very busy going to the pool almost every day! She is such a great little swimmer. It is going to be a sad day in our world when the pool closes for the season! This is a picture of Magnolia after spending 2 hours at the pool. We came home and had some lunch. She fell asleep in the time it took me to walk over to the sink and get a rag to wash her face. She was so exhausted that she did not wake up while I washed her, picked her up out of her high chair and took her upstairs to a crib.
