Magnolia met a new friend on Sunday. His name is Tate and he is only a few days older than her. It was so much fun to see her interact with someone that is her age. They were so cute together and I think she had a blast having someone new to play with. They even shared their sippy cups with each other! I hope that she will get to play with him again!
Welcome to the Maki family blog! This blog has been created to celebrate the lives of our 2 amazing children, Magnolia and Keegan.

Super Sunday
Yesterday was our last day of fun before David started his new job today! We started the day off by meeting our friends at a farmer's market for breakfast. Magnolia loved the whales on Will's shorts! After getting some fresh fruit and sweet corn we headed home for an afternoon of swimming. The neighborhood that we live in has a couple of swimming pools, one of which is a baby pool that is just perfect for Magnolia. She really loves swimming and is really getting into the routine of walking down the street to swim. She now points to her floaty toy in the garage and grunts every time we walk by it. I am assuming it is her way of asking to go to the pool more!

Happy Father's Day- Maki fam style
Today we are celebrating Father's Day! Seeing as Father's Day this year was in the middle of our crazy month of June, and it was Magnolia's birthday, and she was sick most of the day, it just did not feel like a very big tribute to a wonderful daddy! So, I decided that we would have Father's Day today! So, even though this is a little late, I just want everyone to know how lucky Magnolia is to have such an amazing dad! I can honestly say that the best parts of my day are when Magnolia sees David and watching her face and eyes light up and hearing her say "da da!!!!!" Oh so cute! (I think I will like it just as much when she says "ma ma!" for me!!) Anyway, Happy (late) Father's Day to the best husband and father! We love you!

Winter Park, Colorado
We were lucky enough to be invited to Winter Park, Colorado by our dear friend's Scott, Heidi and Will. We had such a great time! We were able to stay in their condo and we so appreciate the fantastic weekend! Magnolia got to spend lots of time with her friend Will, who is 5 months old. He is such a cutie! Here are some pics of the great weekend. Thank you so much Scott and Heidi!

Toilet Paper Fun
Magnolia has had lots of fun playing with toilet paper these last few days. I do believe we have her pappa to thank for showing her the joy of toilet paper! When we were visiting David's family in Wisconsin Bob gave Magnolia a whole roll of toilet paper for her to play with. Since then, she has been obsessed with the stuff and sneaks into any bathroom every chance she can to pull the toilet paper off the roll!

Wisconsin
We got back a few days ago from our trip to see David's family in Wisconsin. We had a great time, even though the weather was a bit cool and rainy. Magnolia got to see many faces at a family reunion and got to play with her cousins Isabella, Daphne and Sully. She also got to play with MyKayla and Mitchael, her second cousins. It was so much fun to be able to have Magnolia spend so much time with family. Magnolia was able to go swimming, go for a pontoon ride, go on a golf cart, eat creme brule and go on other fun adventures.

First Week in Denver
We have had a very eventful first week in Denver! Magnolia had her 1 year doctors appointment. She is very healthy and happy and was such a brave girl getting her shots. She weighs 22.5 lbs and is 30 1/2 in long and her head is still off the charts big. As for some other exciting times this week our jeep broke down on Sunday while we were at the grocery store. Magnolia thought that it was so cool because she got to see a tow truck and a taxi up close and personal. She also got to ride in a rental car for a day so she thought she was pretty hot stuff. We also all had the flu and I must say that Magnolia was such a trooper! She was the first one to get it on the 4th of July so unfortunately she missed seeing the fireworks. When David and I had it she was so sweet and played nicely and watched a movie so that David and I could lay on the couch and exert as little energy as possible. We owe her big for that! :)
These pictures are us getting settled in our house. Magnolia is amazed because we have a tv in our kitchen so on special occasions she gets to watch a program while sitting in her highchair (those special occasions have been when I really need to get stuff organized and put away without the help of little fingers taking it all back out!). I also included a picture of David and Magnolia eating our first meal in our new house.
We are headed to Wisconsin tomorrow to see David's family so there wont be any new posts for a few days. After this trip I promise to get back into the groove of blogging on a very regular basis. :)
