Calming Cranky Magnolia

I know its hard to believe that our little Maggie can get cranky, but it does happen!  She seems to have reflux which causes her some discomfort. Ziggy always gets very concerned Magnolia cries and always likes to check to make sure she is ok.

On the flip side, we have found something that Maggie loves and calms her right down... it is a Moby wrap!  It is a long piece of fabric that I wrap around my body and then she slips right in. This allows me to get some stuff done around the house AND she feels secure and close.  It is a win win situation!

Doesn't little miss Magnolia look stylish in her shades?!  We finally found something that is bigger than her cheeks!  We have had a great day today.  The three of us went out for lunch to celebrate my birthday and then we hung out in the back yard.  Seeing as the sun always shines here in Boise Idaho we thought we better get Maggie used to wearing sunglasses.  I must say, she looks pretty darn cute in them!

I must say that I have made many comments on Maggie's feet and how I feel bad that she got my feet instead of David's, but is that not the cutest foot you have ever seen?!  She was having tummy time in her Boppy and was playing so hard that she fell asleep!  I couldn't resist that time to take these adorable pictures!  

Bath Time

Here are some pictures of daddy giving his first bath!  Magnolia really seems to like baths.  She has not pooped in the bath yet, only spit up!  The water really seems to relax her.  David is on a mission to find her a swimsuit so that she can go swimming soon.  After she had her bath and was clean and dressed it was nap time.  We are trying a new schedule this weekend to see if that will help her spit up less and sleep more at night! She does have a mind of her own so I am not sure who is going to put who on a schedule!  

Sisterly Love

Here are the two sisters bonding with one another!  Ziggy has done very well with Magnolia and seems to really love her.  Whenever we come home from an outing Ziggy will come right over to Maggie's car seat with her tail wagging to say "Hello!"

A day in the gardens

We took Magnolia to the Botanical Gardents today for a little adventure.  She was a very good girl and really enjoyed the fresh air. Notice that she is wearing a dress!   

Grandparents come for a visit!

Magnolia had a very exciting week this week.  She met grandma Lori and grandpa Paul!  She has been very spoiled and has loved every minute of it!  Grandma Lori came out on Monday and has been very busy cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and of course, snuggling with Magnolia.  I have gotten a nap every afternoon which has been fabulous!  We are very lucky to have them out to visit!

Are you ready for some football?

I thought I better get Maggie caught up on the best football team before the football season starts!  We had a long chat about how in this house we cheer for University of Oklahoma! Maggie seemed pretty excited about that and loves to sport her OU t shirt!

Two Weeks Old

                    

We have all survived the first two weeks and have enjoyed every minute of it!  Here are a few pictures that we took today.  I love the one where her feet look huge!  She sure is a cutie!

Family from Minnesota

 David's cousins were out here from Minnesota yesterday.  It was a lot of fun to share Magnolia with family!  She was a little angel and slept pretty much the whole time.  (She made up for all that sleeping in the middle of the night when she chose to be awake the whole night!!)  We were able to sit outside a bit and enjoy the sunny skies of Idaho.  No sitting outside today though, it is supposed to be 106.  We are going to try to break a record today!

Weight gain

Magnolia has gained some of her weight back and is pretty excited about it!  When we went to the doctor last week she was down almost a full pound from her birth weight so we worked really hard this past weekend to plump her up.  We went back to the doctor yesterday and she gained 8 oz!  She is now at 8 lbs. 8 oz!  Wow, what a big girl!  We also had a first today... her umbilical cord fell off this afternoon.  I have to admit, I was very grossed out!  I had to text David the exciting news right away and tell him that we wished he was here!  :)  She can now have a real bath so we might have to try that tomorrow!
