Maki fam in the Fall

We have been very busy this past week doing "fall" things.  Last night we made pumpkin cookies. I informed Magnolia that this is the first of many hours to come of frosting cookies with her mom.  I love baking and am so excited that I have a daughter to help me.  We also went out in the amazing weather that we have been having in search of the perfect pumpkin for Magnolia.  We had a lot of fun going out for a drive and looking at the fall colors on our way to get pumpkins.  Magnolia did get a cute little pumpkin and we even picked one out for her sister Ziggy as well!  

Smile Away

I wish everyone could see Magnolia right now.  She is so much fun!  I don't think that she has stopped smiling for the past week.  Everything is so cool to her.  I love living in this happy world that she has created!

Like Mother Like Daughter

I have made many comments on Magnolia's facial expressions and how there are so many times when she looks irritated.  My parents have told me several times that I used to have that same look.  I must say, I didn't believe them.  I know that I was such a happy baby that there could be no way that I gave those same facial expressions!  :)  Well, when I went to Sioux Falls a few weeks ago I was looking through my baby pictures and almost all of my pictures had the same look as Magnolia gives!  I thought these two pictures were pretty funny. The top one is of me as a wee babe and the bottom is of Magnolia when she was 1 day old!

Lovin' her new toy

Magnolia loves her puppet!  I love to see all of the little things in life that make her so very happy.  Look at the twinkle in her eye!  

Rolled Over

We had a very exciting morning!  Magnolia rolled over for the first time!  I had just taken this picture and was putting the camera away when I looked over and saw her roll right over!  I think she surprised herself because she just looked up at me and started crying.  Oh, what an exciting day we have had and it is only 9:41 am!

Practicing Facial Expressions

Magnolia has been trying out a bunch of new facial expressions this week.  You can tell she is David's daughter.  There have been many days when I catch David practicing facial expressions in the mirror and now Magnolia is doing it too! What a goon!  I must say that my favorite one is when she flashes that smile!  She has been so much fun this week.  She seems to be a whole new girl.  

Great Grandparents

Magnolia was very lucky this past week when we were home.  She was able to meet her great grandparents!  She snuggled in with her great grandma and tried to help her great grandpa talk on the phone!  Also, here is a picture of 4 generations! 

Sioux Falls Pictures

Magnolia got to see her grandma and grandpa again while we were in Sioux Falls.  She has grown so much since the last time they saw her. Magnolia tried her best to charm them and show them all of her new tricks she has learned since they saw her last.  She also got to meet her aunt Katie.  It was so nice to see my little sister... but it was kind of crazy to look up when talking to her! We were very luck that our friend James was able to come for a day from Minneapolis.  He really bonded with Magnolia by bouncing her on the exercise ball.  I think he realized that being a mom is hard work!  We also got to see Landon, Ryan and Anna.  Landon even gave up play time to hold Magnolia!

Flogstad Family

Magnolia was able to meet some more cousins and another aunt and uncle in Sioux Falls.  She was a little out of sorts the day we all got together, but it was so great for them to finally meet!  Lindsay did an amazing job bouncing Magnolia on the exercise ball.  She is such a great helper!  Hannah and Magnolia watched cartoons together, each one sporting a pacifier!
