Sioux Falls

We took a quick trip to Sioux Falls this past weekend. We had a blast and were able to cram in a bunch of stuff and saw a lot of family in a short amount of time. The only bummer part was that Magnolia woke up sick on the day we were heading home. I ended up taking her into the dr in Sioux Falls to find out she had a double ear infection, a sinus infection and bronchitis. Poor girl! I medicated her very well for the flight home and she was a trooper! Before getting sick Magnolia was able to go swimming with her cousins, go on a ferris wheel with grandpa and go roller skating (at the same place I used to roller skate as a kid) with grandpa and me. We also got to see great grandparents and Ryan and Anna. Keegan was super happy just toddling around and playing with my parents dog. He also got to eat breakfast on the couch with grandpa!

Airplane ride

We went to Sioux Falls this past weekend. David had to work there so we went along for the ride! We have not been on a plane for awhile so Keegan (and Magnolia) were super excited. This was the first time Keegan got his own seat so he thought he was pretty cool stuff! He loved watching the big planes come into their gates at the airport and Magnolia was right there to explain everything to him. The highlight of the travel... we were invited into the cockpit after our flight home. Keegan charmed the flight attendant when we were getting on the plane and tried to say HI to the pilots when we walked onto the plane. The flight attendant then said that if the pilot had time after the flight he would show us around. Sure enough when we were getting off the pilot came out and invited the kids and I into the cockpit. He put Keegan in the chair and showed him different buttons he could press. He also explained to Magnolia which levers they pull to get the plane up in the air. It was so cool! He couldn't have been nicer and it was truly a magical experience for both kids! I tried to get some pictures but it was a bit tricky!

Momo and Grandpa

So my parents were out last week for a very quick trip. Did I remember to take pictures? Nope! Ugh!!! So frustrating! These are the only two pictures we took the whole time. We had a really great time with them. Everyone was healthy which was a huge stress relief for me! The other stress relief? Keegan decided to talk! I was getting VERY frustrated with his lack of communication and constant screaming. The day my parents got here he woke up happy and saying words! (I know it sounds crazy but it is so true!) He repeats words now and puts words to everything! He is a whole new kid... he is happy and not nearly so frustrated with everything! It was fun to have my parents here to witness his talking truly explode! We took my parents into the mountains to see Magnolia ski. In the 5 years that we have lived here they have never ventured into the mountains so that was a big adventure! We stayed in a condo right at the base of the slopes so they could just hang out and watch her come swishin' down. They even watched Keegan so I could go out and ski! What a treat for me!

My two favorite men

Is this picture not the most adorable thing you have ever seen? Oh it is truly my new favorite picture of my two favorite men! Love love love!

A camping we will go

We had our annual campout in the living room this week. Magnolia packed like she was going to be gone for several days and was very particular setting everything up. I made smore bars and we had a fun family night playing in the tent. Keegan even got into the action and was so very happy playing around. Keegan did not get to sleep in the tent but had fun pretending before heading up to bed. We then blew up an air mattress and David, Magnolia and I crawled in for a very restful evening! ;) Magnolia brought her dream light in so we were even able to turn that on and pretend we were sleeping under the stars!

SNOW!

We got a bunch of snow Christmas night and yesterday. We were able to get out in the fresh air and enjoy it yesterday. The best part? Keegan did not scream the whole time! Yes, he even smiled! The past winters he has screamed and screamed in the cold. He has hated snow and has let us know loud and clear! This year he even sat in the sled and let us push him around in it! We are making progress! No, he does not love it as much as his sister... but I have never seen anyone who loves snow and cold as much as she does! We may not have gotten pictures on Christmas day, but we got some adorable ones out in the snow!

Christmas

We had just a lovely Christmas! We had so much fun that I pretty much forgot to take pictures!! Oops! Thankfully I remembered to take some Christmas Eve! We had a very relaxing Christmas Eve. David made us a seafood feast including lobster, crab and shrimp. It was AMAZING!! Keegan had mac n cheese which he also thought was amazing! After our tummies were full we all snuggled in for Polar Express movie night. Keegan is not usually into movies but I must say, he loved it! He giggled, made choo choo sounds and just really enjoyed it. Give the boy a train and he is happy! After the movie Magnolia made a plate of cookies for Santa and made him a special reindeer snack thought up and made by her! So cute! Christmas day was spent leisurely opening presents, eating snacks and enjoying family time. For Christmas dinner we had friends over and had lasagna roll ups and rum cake for dessert. What a lovely lovely day!
