Momo and Grandpa's Cabin

After the weekend at David's cabin Magnolia and I took him to the airport and headed to my parent's cabin. It was another exciting few days in Magnolia's world. She was able to go fishing and fishing and more fishing, have the campfire she had been waiting for and play with her other cousins. She even had some pet worms that she kept in her tackle box. Oh we have a real lake girl and I couldn't be more happy!

Grammy and Pappa's Cabin

We were at David's parent's cabin over Memorial Day. Magnolia had a blast playing with her cousins and going on boat rides. She even got a pedicure from Isabella and Daphne. She also ate a very yummy s'more even though her camp fire idea got rained out. Thank goodness they had a fire in the sauna so Sully and Daphne could roast her a marshmallow!

Last Day Of School

Magnolia had her last day of school yesterday. She had a very successful year and really loved going to school. To say she was sad yesterday would be an understatement. She was heartbroken! She will be at a new preschool next year so it was extra hard on her knowing that she wouldnt be back in the fall. Good thing we have a busy summer to keep her busy! Our neighborhood pool opens this weekend so that is also very exciting in her world. Here is a picture of her on the first day of school and one that I took yesterday on her last. Wow, she looks so old compared to the fall one!

Mother's Day

Once again I had a very wonderful Mother's Day. Magnolia loves any and all celebrations so she made me several cards and pictures and loved telling me "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!" Her and David also gave me an ice cream maker so that we can make homemade ice cream this summer... cant think of a better gift to get a pregnant woman than that!!! :) I dont need a special holiday to make me appreciate how much I love being a mom... but I guess it takes a special day to express my feelings on this blog! There isn't a day that goes by that I dont think about how lucky to be a stay at home mom. I am so very grateful to David for all of his sacrifices and how hard he works so that I can continue to do what I love. Now, dont get me wrong, there are days when I want to pull my hair out and wish that I could just go to work for a few hours. However, every single night I go in to check on Magnolia and am truly overflowing with love and amazement when I see her peacefully sleeping in her bed. There isn't anything better in life than to see your child healthy, happy and growing into an amazing little person! To top off this amazing thing called motherhood I am lucky enough to have another little peanut growing inside of me! Its amazing how much you can love something that you haven't even met yet, who kicks you hard enough to wake you up several times a night, and who loves to jump on your bladder so that you have to go to the bathroom every 20 minutes. :) Ah, such fun time ahead of us in the Maki fam!

Preschool Program

Magnolia had her preschool program last week. The theme of the program was Zoo Animals so they sang many adorable songs all about animals. Magnolia had a blast and asked if she could do it again when it was over. Below are 2 videos of Magnolia in action! :)

Horsetooth Reservoir

We had a very beautiful weekend here in Colorado. On Saturday we took full advantage of the weather and went exploring. We ended up going to Horsetooth Reservoir, which was a very short drive from our house. Magnolia had a blast throwing rocks into the water and getting all muddy. There are huge boats that go on this lake so it was fun to see all of those. If we were big into camping I would definitely want to spend a night at one of the camp sites! The scenery picture that I am posting does not do this place justice, but at least you get a little glimpse. We also tried to get a picture of my baby bump!

Future Big Sister!

Magnolia is very excited to tell everyone that she is going to be a big sister! I am currently 21 weeks along and we are expecting our new little peanut to arrive at the end of August! We are so VERY excited!!! Magnolia already loves this little baby more than words can describe. She rubs my tummy, gives it lots of kisses and loves to talk to the baby. She is at such a fantastic age to have another baby! Each week we talk about how big the baby is and compare it to a fruit (this week it is the size of a large carrot). The drawing is one that Magnolia did of her and the baby playing soccer. How cute is that?!?! Such exciting times in this household!
